Heavy Sounds is back! And this time we're bringing you a brand new series focusing ~heavily~ on the atmospheric, ambient, intelligent (or whatever you'd like to call it) side of the 90's Jungle era.

On our never ending quest to re-create the oldskool sound, we feel it's necessary to represent all styles of golden era Jungle, including the frankly underrepresented "intelligent" style. Of course massive respect to all the artists & labels keeping the it alive, however sometimes the tunes miss the mark of the oldskool ways. And who knows, maybe we did too, but we did our best to channel our inner Bukem!

Track A1's original mix was released back in 2021 on the legendary Dalston Chilies Records, which is run by an amazing producer and good friend of ours, Ben Kei. Quaad's VIP version takes elements of the original and transforms them into something a bit different. Potentially more dancefloor centric than the original with an alternative amen and composition.

Track B1 is a heavy nod at the mid to late 90's style using the horizons/do the do break, while keeping it fresh in a non roller style as originally intended. This one has heavier elements as well to keep bodies movin' and dancefloors groovin' seen. We are very happy to have Laramie on board to bring you this wicked choon!

Lastly, track B2. brings on the ruff and the smooth with another stretchy amen damager from Quaad. Utilizing multiple different basslines, time stretch's and classic jungle m1 presets and pads, we chose it to be the closer of this wicked EP, rounding out the first volume of hopefully many more to come.

The way the amens are spread out in this track is amazing the drums sound amazing with really nice snare/kick rolls this atmospheric spacey background is just lush with the nice synths and mellow keys it’s just a brilliant piece as a whole hats off for sure MOZZIE
